ITS ALL GOOD

ITS ALL GOOD

If nothing new is written, the absence is noted by a few.

When reports are polished and gleam with the sheen of community bias.

When Leaders are replaced  by noisy followers,

Growth subsides and  is mimicked once more,

Protecting the status quo,

The ebb and flow

And signal the seductive return of serenity.

When discovery is recorded,

When an artist unveils,

When  science confirms a new idea

When   the remarks of a 110 yr old lady reach our ears,

Her wrinkles seem attractive.

We all feel safer.

We return to an earlier focus,

Now enhanced by the absence of previously tight abs.

The shallow breathing and the furrowed brow are forgotten

And, we relax.

It’s all good says  Dixie

And life goes on.

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO IGNORE THAT BUCKET LIST.

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO IGNORE THAT BUCKET LIST.

Occasionally I discover a new truth and wonder if I’m the only person who failed to learn it as a child.
About that Serenity prayer: apparently no choice is necessary. Everything I do changes something.
I no longer have to ponder over an issue for an hour, a month or a year or a decade.
Nor do I need to make up for lost time.
Is it possible to spend only one single day acting on every new idea that crosses my mind with the effect of creating enough pathways to newness to last indefinitely?
Check back with me tomorrow evening.
(I don’t need no dadgummed bucket list.)

THE TORTOISE

The only real failure in life is not to be true
to the best one knows.
Buddha.

To honor Buddha’s words because they are wise may  lead to wisdom.
To become a Buddhist is to dishonor the father of Buddhism.
L.B.

This wasn’t a first for me, Oh no

For I’ve been booed before.

But boo they did and if again I deign to take the floor

I’ll bare my soul and quote no page

But those on which I write.

And right or wrong, I’ll live my life

While focused on The Light.

I choose to be the Tortoise. The World may be my Hare.

Whatever it takes to be myself is what I have to share.

So round them up my brothers, practice till you soar.

Consensus is the plan it seems,

For those whose plans are clever schemes

And Might is Right (it’s done in teams)

Ignore the Rabbits’ Roar.

The Tortoise has the floor.
